The Salzburger weaving mill Weiß produces fleckerl rugs made of cotton fabrics and linen on traditional looms. From these patches you sew beautiful patches with a felt sole. The patches are different with each patch, which makes each piece unique. The color of the slippers in this size is red and they can be washed by hand.
The Weaving Mill
Our carpet factory in Getreidegasse 18a is one of the last artisanal businesses in Salzburg’s old town.
Here we are working on those old wooden looms that my father and partly my grandfather and great-grandfather used.
We do not have standard sizes and therefore no extra charge for special sizes.
Any width up to 3 meters is possible (in some weaves even up to 4 meters) and of course any length.
Hand weaving with tradition
Since the 1950s, the shop and the workshop have been located in the “Niederleghof”, an extremely historic passageway between Getreidegasse and Griesgasse, opposite the “Wilder Mann” inn.
The carpet weaving business itself has existed since 1843 and has since been passed on in the family from generation to generation.
That is why I am particularly pleased that my son Max has discovered his love for this old craft and continues the family tradition with enthusiasm and enthusiasm, enriching it with new energy and many creative ideas.
Thus, this long tradition continues to inspire us to remain faithful to the traditional craftsmanship and yet to be absolutely up to date in terms of colours and design, to have the courage to be new and innovative and to use the best natural materials.
A large selection of finished carpets in all colours and patterns awaits you in our sales rooms, or you can have your very special carpet woven according to your own ideas.
The fulfillment of individual customer requirements is our speciality and our recipe for success!
Your Rupert and Maximilian Weiß
